Budget plan would cut resources to programs that help the community.

Faced with the threat of budget cuts to health, food and education programs, focused primarily on groups of color such as Latinos, after the U.S. Senate passed a budget resolution that will cut money for these programs and increase funding for deportations, progressive organizations are speaking out and claiming that the tax cuts will favor large corporations and the wealthy.

Rafael Medina, Director of Media Relations for the Center for American Progress-CAP, comments that the argument that the budget gives the government more money for security, although that does not seem true says Rafael Medina.

Rafael Medina, says that these measures would be harming the population by cutting programs that support families in health and education to support the wealthiest.

Rafael Medina says that the budget measures of the Republican Trump administration will have negative consequences for all citizens.

In addition, the proposed cuts could lead to increases in electricity and take away tax credits that some families have today. Let’s listen to Rafael Medina, Director of Media Relations at the Center for American Progress.
