 The first week of August is a key moment to highlight breastfeeding as both a right and a vital public health strategy. While exclusive breastfeeding is recommended for the first six months of life, not all mothers can do so. What social challenges do new mothers face? Who cares for the caregivers? What does it mean to defend breastfeeding in a country where dignified conditions are at risk? Why is breastfeeding considered more than just nourishment?
