El ‘Flaco’ Jiménez Leaves a Lasting Mark on Tex-Mex Music – Leonardo, “El Flaco” Jiménez was an accomplished accordion master and a legend of Tejano music. His father and grandfather are recognized as pioneers of conjunto music. Jiménez performed with legends such as Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson and won six Grammy Awards during his more than 70-year career. Our news director, Samuel Orozco, prepared the following tribute to “Flaco” Jiménez, who recently passed away at the age of 86.
