Aideed Medina: Fresno’s Poet Laureate.
A conversation with Fresno’s (CA) new poet laureate about her commitment to bringing the art of poetry to the streets and to the people. Medina, who grew up in the fields as part of a family influenced by labor movement values, discusses the fears she had to overcome to pursue a career in literature. She also reflects on the emerging binational collaborative work and shares excerpts from Segmented Bodies, her first poetry collection.
