As the Smithsonian’s Folklife Festival culminates in Washington a month of celebrations of 250 years of US independence, festival goers and thought leaders are invited to reflect on the state of the nation and to look into the nation’s future, the promises and challenges in front of the US democracy. This program concludes a broadcast series produced in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution.

Guests: José López Zamorano, Program Co-Host and Correspondent, Radio Bilingüe, Washington, DC; Juan Felipe Herrera, Ex Poeta Laureado de EEUU, Fowler, CA; Ruben Martinez, escritor, periodista y profesor, Los Angeles, CA; Ubaldo Sánchez, Mam Maya Artisan from Guatemala who is exhibiting his work, and Yadani and Nessa, children visitors at the Smithsonian museum in Washington, DC.
