Trump’s Immigration Plans
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17
PROGRAM #10626 12:00 PM PT
Immigration Edition.
As immigration was front and center of his campaign, President-elect Trump continues insisting he plans to deport millions of undocumented immigrants and try to end birthright citizenship. He said in order not to break up families, noncitizens and citizens could be deported together in families with mixed immigration status. On the Dreamers, he said he’ll work with Democrats on a Plan B that would allow Dreamers to stay in the country. Political analysts comment on these recent statements and explain the legal rights and resources available for workers and families who are vulnerable to deportation. This program also includes a report about the plans discussed at the National Immigrant Inclusion Conference, the largest gathering of pro-immigrant activists in the country, celebrated in Houston in recent days.
Guests: Attorney Rosalba Piña, Immigration Law Expert and Pro-Immigrant Advocate, Chicago, IL; Larry Kleinman, Political Analyst and Commentator, La Política Más Crítica, Radio Poder, Woodburn, OR.
