The day has come, avoid mistakes and make your voice heard

Today is election day, and citizens are called to vote and participate in one of the closest elections in history, which could mark a new era by electing the first woman to lead the political future of the next 4 years in the United States.

Although it has been a close race between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump, today could define who will win the battle for the U.S. presidency, the House of Representatives and the Senate, which are in a technical tie, according to polls.

But how is the mood of the voters in the states in dispute, some of you our listeners tell us that you have overcome many barriers and are now ready to make your voice heard through the vote.

Maria, who lives in Santa Rosa California, shares that she is excited because today she will be able to vote for the first time, since she became a citizen 2 years ago.

She also says that she is very excited and it is very meaningful to vote with her children because her father was a bracero and never had the right to vote and have his voice heard.

Daniel from Delano, California, is also voting today for the first time, and he is happy because it is important to show that we can be decisive in this election.

You should know that every vote counts, so you still have time to go to the polls.

The Latino vote will be of significant importance, since about 36 million Latinos are called to the polls, in 2020 almost half of the voters, that is to say, 16.5 million were those who participated in which President Joe Biden turned out to be the winner against the reelection of Donald Trump.

On the other hand, now that you have decided to vote, take into account some recommendations to avoid mistakes when voting.

I recommend you to take your time, read carefully the indications and in many cases, for example, you are not only voting for president or congressmen, but for initiatives, bills, so do it with the information to avoid mistakes that may invalidate your vote.

In order to ensure that your vote is valid and your decision is counted, there are other things Californian voters need to consider in this election process, which ballot drop-off centers opened on October 8, and ballot mailing must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 12. In addition, mail-in ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by November 12.

In Arizona, 8 of the state’s 15 counties use two-page ballots, with Maricopa County having as many as 79 local, state and federal races, as well as statewide races.

So take your time, read carefully and although in many cases no identification is required, bring some just in case.
