Rituals for welcoming the New Year

By Radio Bilingüe
Published December 31, 2024

In many cultures there is a belief in performing rituals to attract abundance, love, money and protection, especially at the beginning of the year, and this is no exception.

When performing these practices, popular beliefs and cultural traditions are combined, candles, essences, seeds, sheep, bracelets and an endless number of amulets are used.

In Mexico and other Latin American countries, thousands of people believe in limpias, which are practiced to welcome the new year with the faith that they will help them to have love, health, protection, work and abundance throughout the new year.

Eduardo Linares, a vendor in a popular market in the city, says that this is one of the best selling times of the year.

One of the products sold are herbs to cleanse from bad vibes, let’s listen to Eduardo Linares.

He recognizes that people look for amulets for health, money and abundance, leaving love in the background.

He comments that there are mobiles that hang on the doors and ring, and in addition to hearing a nice sound, spirits are scared away.

Remember that these rituals are part of popular culture and tradition, however, as Eduardo says, although this can help, the most important thing is to be more positive in the coming year, given the challenges we will face and we must go out to work and take care of ourselves to find abundance and money.

When a new year begins, it is a time to make a clean slate, new resolutions and, why not, perform one or another ritual to attract the best in the new year.

And why not perform one or another fun ritual to attract positive energy and why not make our dreams of travel, health, money and love come true.

For example, popular culture says that if we wear red underwear it is to attract love and passion, yellow: prosperity and success and green: it is for health and hope.

We at Radio Bilingüe wish you a year full of abundance, health and money.
