Parol in Place In Limbo
The humanitarian permit, known as Parol in Place, began on August 19, but on August 23, Texas and other states filed an appeal in court, and a panel of judges of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ordered a lower court to halt all administrative proceedings until a final verdict is issued.
Remember that Parol in Place would allow some 500,000 undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens, as well as some 50,000 undocumented stepchildren, to complete the adjustment of their immigration status and receive a green card within the United States.
The program allows them to remain in the U.S. while the process is being carried out.
