Parol in Place In Limbo

By Radio Bilingüe
Published September 20, 2024

The humanitarian permit, known as Parol in Place, began on August 19, but on August 23, Texas and other states filed an appeal in court, and a panel of judges of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ordered a lower court to halt all administrative proceedings until a final verdict is issued.

Remember that Parol in Place would allow some 500,000 undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens, as well as some 50,000 undocumented stepchildren, to complete the adjustment of their immigration status and receive a green card within the United States.

The program allows them to remain in the U.S. while the process is being carried out.

Alma Rosa Nieto, an immigration lawyer, gives us an update on this program…

This legal recourse that it implies and what it means for the people.

She recommends, let’s listen to attorney Alma Rosa Nieto.

But she clarifies that people who have had legal problems, it is better that they do not apply.

For the time being, the lawyer recommends that you approach an expert to make sure that you are eligible while the legal resources against this measure are being resolved.
