Los Latinos are a target for presidential candidates, and women and young people are a determining factor in the elections.

Since Kamala Harris ran for the Democratic nomination, organizations consider that there has been an increase in voter registrations, mainly young people between 18 and 39 years old, who have risen more than 86%.

Claudia Yoli Ferla, executive director of the MOVE Texas Civic Fund, who is a Venezuelan immigrant and a DACA and TPS beneficiary, comments on why young Latinos can make a difference in the elections.

The director of Move Texas, which is a non-profit organization that seeks to empower young people, says that the goal is very ambitious because it not only defines the election but can change public policy through knowing why to vote.

Claudia Yoli Ferla, executive director of the MOVE Texas Civic Fund, points out what they have seen young Latinos want.

She stresses that young people want equality above all.

But what motivates young people to participate with their vote, let’s hear from Claudia Yoli Ferla, executive director of the MOVE Civic Fund of Texas.

However, there are things that discourage young people from voting, as is the case in some states like Texas.

She details that it is a problem that must be overcome, because there are many attacks on their rights such as misinformation.

Claudia Yoli Ferla, executive director of the MOVE Civic Fund of Texas, indicates that this organization seeks to create a culture of civic participation and above all to positively impact its Latino community.
