Mexico Edition: International Women’s Day
FRIDAY, MARCH 8
PROGRAM #10307 12:00 PM PT
Mexico Edition. International Women’s Day is marked every March 8 to remember women’s historical fight for equality. As part of the commemoration, thousands march in Mexico City for gender equality and against violence against women, such as femicides and disappearances. In another story, farm worker advocates begin a three-day Farmworker Freedom Festival in Palm Beach, Florida, to highlight the historic human rights progress achieved through the Fair Food Program. The Festival will also reach out to consumers and food industry leaders to deal with poverty and abuse especially among those who harvest produce for fast food companies.
Guest: Lucas Benitez, Coordinator, Coalition of Immokalee Workers, Immokalee, FL.
