Latino Farmers and Ranchers Push to Be Included in Farm Bill – Thousands of Latino farmers and ranchers could be left without federal support unless special protections are included in agreements for a new Farm Bill. The law, which must be renewed every five years, expired last year. However, negotiations were postponed until this September. Ahead of those negotiations, leaders from affected groups are in the nation’s capital requesting support from legislators in both parties. José López Zamorano reports from Washington.

In Colorado, New Effort Launched to Win the Latino Youth Vote – A little more than a week before the primary elections on Super Tuesday, traditionally the most decisive day of the U.S. presidential primaries, there is increasing interest in motivating and winning over Latino voters. In Colorado, both political party leaders and voting advocates are devoting more time and resources to reaching out to this group, especially young citizens. Gerardo Guzman has the details on these efforts in Colorado.

Researchers Investigate Impact of Long Covid Among Latinos in Washington State – In Washington State’s Yakima Valley, some Latinos who were infected with Covid-19 are still suffering from the symptoms of what is now known as Long Covid. Fatigue, muscle pain, anxiety, and difficulty sleeping are some of the most common ailments identified in a survey late last year. In the second part of this special series, Johanna Bejarano shares the study’s findings. This is the second of three reports on Long Covid in Washington State.
