Farm to School Program seeks to improve student health and promote responsible agriculture.

California has partnered with the Climate Mayors network to advance the Farm to School initiative, a program that is an example and a national model for ensuring that students have access to healthy school meals made with locally sourced ingredients and as a result can support small, disadvantaged farmers who practice environmentally friendly agriculture.

Jorge Maldonado, Mayor of the City of Nogales in Nogales, AZ, who is part of the network of mayors supporting the Farm to School program, discusses how they are working.
