Enjoy nature and gain health benefits

Recently, Latino Conservation Week was held, which one of its objectives is to encourage Latinos to connect with Mother Nature and their ancestral roots, enjoy and protect natural resources and get outdoors.

Unfortunately, the Latino community in general lives in places without access to nature and many others do not participate in outdoor activities.

So explains Arturo Angeles, Conservation Communications Associate, Hispanic Access Foundation.

Arturo Angeles, Conservation Communications Associate, Hispanic Access Foundation, says it’s very important to have access to nature because that’s where the love to care for nature can come from.

Arturo Angeles, Conservation Communications Associate, Hispanic Access Foundation, says they are looking to open the access barriers to these public areas, so they can have outdoor recreation and if they want to participate as guardians of nature.

He says it is also important to awaken a sense of conservation among the community.
Arturo Angeles says that another benefit is for youth to disconnect from gadgets so they can connect with nature.

Arturo Angeles, Conservation Communications Associate, Hispanic Access Foundation, says that having contact with nature improves memory, decreases stress, improves health and well-being, but also better performance at school and work.

So get out in the parks, mountains, deserts, and beaches for the benefits of nature and also take care of the environment and wildlife.
