Non-profit, non-partisan organizations and immigrant rights groups have launched a “New American Voters Tour” this September for Citizenship Month.
The National Association for New Americans organized the “Naturalized and Ready to Vote” tour which includes visits to 6 cities across the country.
They want to celebrate new voters with information so they can participate in the upcoming elections.
They emphasize the importance of civic participation.
Nancy Flores, Deputy Director of the National Association for New Americans, talks about the objective of this tour that is already underway.
She emphasizes that they are looking to reach key states for the next election mainly because this is Citizenship month.
He said that they conducted a survey of New Americans, revealing the feelings of future voters.
Nancy Flores, Deputy Director of the National Association for New Americans, also reveals that there is a slight preference in favor of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
She says 90% of the participants are interested in the election and more than 90% of the respondents do want to vote, according to Nancy Flores.
Nancy Flores, Deputy Director of the National Association for New Americans, says they went to Las Vegas but will go to Washington to talk to new Americans.
They will also visit Pennsylvania to motivate the naturalized, and then they will go to Miami in Florida.
Nancy Flores, Deputy Director of the National Association for New Americans, points out that the newly naturalized are not always informed about the electoral system.
Also remember that part of the information that is shared with those who have now met the requirements to become U.S. citizens has to do with the power to elect those who do not propose laws that affect the community.
