Amid Cheers and Protests, Kamala Harris Makes History as Presidential Candidate

Amidst a sea of enthusiastic supporters and a flurry of pro-Palestinian protests, Kamala Harris made history at the Democratic National Convention, becoming the first woman of black and Indian origin to become the Democratic nominee. She was joined by her running mate, Tim Walz, at the convention in Chicago. Her Republican rivals, Donald Trump and JD Vance, launched a political tour to counter the Democratic celebration. During the four-day event, they ridiculed her “radical” agenda and appeared highly motivated to do battle to retake the White House. Jose Lopez Zamorano has the details from Washington.
