Carol Dowell

Carol (she/her/ella) is Radio Bilingüe’s former Development Director and has worked in fundraising, communications and management for the organization since 2007. For 20 years prior, she was an editor for non-profits working for racial equity, media justice, youth empowerment and immigrant rights. During that time, she specialized in facilitating publications by multiple writers of different backgrounds. Carol is a lifelong Californian, proudly claiming her hometown of Sacramento (and alma mater Sac City College) and adopted hometowns of Oakland, Fresno and Los Angeles. Carol also worked an earlier shift for Radio Bilingüe in the 1990s as a grant writer and organizer of the ¡Viva el Mariachi! and Norteño music festivals.
