House Republicans Clash Over Medicaid. After a congressional report revealed that as a result of the drastic House cuts to Medicaid millions could lose health care, some Republicans are backing off some reductions to the Medicaid program. This resistance from Republicans from highly contested congressional districts is a first setback to Trump’s plan to cut social spending to pay for low taxes on the wealthy. What Medicaid cuts are off and what cuts remain on the table?

Guest: Laura Guerra-Cardus, Director of State Medicaid Strategy, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities-CBPP, Austin, TX.

Millions Could Lose Medi-Cal. The proposed cuts to Medicaid, also known as Medi-Cal in California, have sparked protests in districts run by Republican congressmen who voted in favor of a budget plan that would approve huge Medicaid cuts. How would the Medicaid cuts impact the millions of beneficiaries and the healthcare system in California?

Guests: Arnulfo De La Cruz, President, SEIU-2015, Union Representing Long-Term Care Workers, Los Angeles, CA; María de Jesús Ramírez, A Medi-Cal Mother with a Daughter with Down Syndrome, Long-Term Care Worker, Lindsay, CA.
