California Prepares for Battles Against Trump’s Policies

As Donald Trump’s inauguration date approaches, California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom called for a special session of the state congress. Newsom asked the legislature for a $25 million appropriation for legal defense against the new Republican administration’s announced threats to environmental protections, women’s civil and reproductive rights, and immigrant families.
