Assistant Archivist for Línea Abierta Digital Collection

Reports to: News Director

Collaborates with: Administrative/Production Assistant

Duties:

The Assistant Archivist will:

– Assist the RB news team in the editing or creation of metadata and content review

– Works with News Director, and Administrative/Production Assistant and Sound Engineer to identify programs from the collection that need attention

– Create, edit or cleanup metadata to describe digitized materials following quality guidelines

– Correct program descriptions and titles as needed in Línea Abierta’s program repository

– Review and listen digital audio files content to edit the program description metadata

Qualifications:

– Bilingual, speak and read both English and Spanish fluently
– Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and audio software applications
– Ability to work with databases and manipulate and migrate data
– Excellent writing ability
– Interest in history or humanities
– Careful attention to detail
– Initiative
– Capable of working independently
