Radio Bilingüe broadcasts and webcasts the second Mexican presidential debate on Thursday, June 14th
Radio Bilingüe will broadcast and webcast tape-delayed the second Mexican presidential debate on Thursday, June 14th, from 5 PM to 7 PM PDT. The debate, which took place in Guadalajara on June 10th, includes presidential candidates Enrique Pena Nieto, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Josefina Vazquez Mota and Gabriel Quadri. In this second round, candidates address issues and plans of specific interest to Mexican émigrés.
Opinion polls show the Mexican presidential race in a virtual dead heat. Tens of thousands of Mexicans living in the U.S. are voting via absentee ballot in this election for the second time in history, and thousands more are planning to travel to vote in person. In a close election, they might become the pivotal vote.
In an effort to contribute to an informed decision, Radio Bilingüe will be broadcasting the second debate on a tape-delayed basis on Thursday, June 14th from 5 PM to 7 PM PDT. The broadcast will also be streamed online on www.radiobilingue.org .
As part of its coverage of the Mexican presidential elections, Radio Bilingüe will continue offering news and analysis on Línea Abierta’s Mexico Edition on Fridays, as well as programs on the presidential candidates and the Mexican vote from abroad. The series will culminate with an extended three-hour coverage edition on Election Day, Sunday July 1st.
