Radio Bilingüe airs series on the Mexican Revolution and Independence

Radio Bilingüe presents the U.S. radio premiere of “De Cara a la Historia,” a special Spanish-language series in celebration of the centennial of the Mexican Revolution and the Bicentennial of Mexican Independence. The series features interviews with renowned chroniclers and historians who share anecdotes and episodes that took place during the Mexican Revolution and the War of Independence in the Western state of Michoacan.

The series will kick off this weekend during the celebrations of the Mexican Independence and culminate on November 20th, the day Mexico celebrates the anniversary of the Revolution.

Produced by Sistema Michoacano de Radio y Televisión’s seasoned producer Dámarys Florian, the series is narrated in a conversational style by Teresa Osorio, an elder whose wise and calm voice evokes the tradition of the grandmother-storyteller figure who passes on family lore and cultural values to the new generations.

Beginning on Sunday, September 18th, the half-hour programs will air on Sundays at 6:00 AM PDT.
