Radio Bilingüe Youth Anti-Displacement Internship

Internship project description:

Help develop series of news reports and talk shows with a focus on community displacement, gentrification and homelessness for Radio Bilingüe Latino public network. The intern will receive training in community radio reporting and also be part of a SF Bay area Youth Anti-Displacement Cohort. A group of youth interns based in different organizations will come together once a month to discuss ways to collaborate on the common issue of anti-displacement. Among the other hosting organizations are: the Unity Council, Eastside Arts Alliance, Youth Speaks, and KPOO Radio.

Youth Intern must be:
- Passionate and interested about issues of displacement, gentrification and homelessness
- Strong interest in civic engagement
- Strong interest in media and arts and culture
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Based in or near San Francisco or Oakland
- Ages of 16 – 24
- Able to participate once a month in 4-5 hour long workshops with other youth

The Internship position is part time. Stipend yet to be determined. This project is funded by The San Francisco Foundation.

The candidate must have strong writing skills, experience researching projects, and fully bilingual in Spanish and English. Familiarity with digital editing programs will be desirable.
