How Will a New Law in California Requiring Ethnic Studies Work?

California has become the first state in the nation to mandate students to pass ethnic studies as a requirement for high school graduation. The class teaches, among other topics, the history of discrimination and the contributions of Blacks, Latinos, Asians and Native Americans in building this country. The author of the pioneering legislation, Democratic Assemblyman José Medina, talks with our News Director, Samuel Orozco.
