Supreme Court on Birth Control.

monday4_673x324

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that some companies will be allowed to deny insurance coverage for contraception. The court decided that requiring some employers to pay insurance coverage for contraception violates federal protections for religious freedom. Latina leaders say this decision would allow bosses to interfere with the personal health care decisions of their employees. This program features some of those concerns, an explanation of this case and a discussion on how to come up with ways to compensate women for the extra cost they will have to pay for this service.

Guests: Kimberly Inez McGuire, Director of Public Affairs, National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, Washington, DC, www.latinainstitute.org ; Leonardo Cuello, Director of Health Policy, National Health Law Program, Washington, DC, http://www.healthlaw.org
