Mexico Edition.

This holiday edition showcases two interviews from Línea Abierta’s historical archives. The program includes a conversation with Dr. Ireneo Rojas Hernández, a P’urhepecha-speaking Indian from Cheran, Michoacán who received his doctorate degree in physics in Germany. In addition to having been a distinguished physics researcher and professor in Michoacán’s Universidad de San Nicolás, Dr. Rojas was a renowned promoter of his native P’urhepecha language and culture. Tata Ireneo died in 2013. This interview was originally aired in 2002. This program also includes an interview with Raúl Castro, the first and only Latino elected governor in Arizona. The interview was aired in 2010, a year when infamous anti-immigration law SB 1070 was polarizing this border state. Gov. Castro passed in 2015.
