PROGRAM # 10237 11:00 AM PT

Extra Edition: Recap of 2023. (Program Repeat).

As 2023 comes to a close, the hosts of Línea Abierta convene to review some of the headline news stories of the year and stories to watch in 2024 in the US and Mexico. This year, the hottest year on record, climate change and extreme weather events, including wildfires and floods in California, made headlines on Línea Abierta. Efforts to save the ocean from pollution and overfishing, as well as proposals in the new Farm Bill to support climate-resilient agriculture were part of the conversation. Other stories included the millions losing Medicaid, teen drug use and the fentanyl crisis, the first unemployment fund for undocumented workers in Colorado, the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and the start of the 2024 presidential campaigns. This program was aired on December 27, 2023.

Guests: Chelis López, San Francisco, CA; Citlali Sáenz, Mexico City, MX; Gerardo Guzmán, Atlanta, GA; Samuel Orozco, Oakland, CA.
