Radio Bilingüe at 40.
Radio Bilingüe, the national Latino public radio network, marks 40 years since its first station went on the air in Fresno. The station became a trailblazer in community radio and soon grew to become a satellite-interconnected network of stations serving bilingual audiences around the US and Mexico. In this anniversary program, Radio Bilingüe’s founder talks about the early days and the role of community broadcasting in meeting the challenges of these times, when Latinos are the hardest hit by the crisis. The program also features highlights of RB’s coverage of landmark events in its 40-year history.
