A state bill in California would allow undocumented residents and DACA and TPS recipients to apply for the state-funded food assistance program. Those who farm and process the food for California will be able to feed their own families. Also, a civil-rights bill to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, and create federal protections for LGBTQ people, has been passed by the US House. It’s future in the Senate is uncertain.
