Vice President Kamala Harris’ Visit to Guatemala Elicits Doubt and Hope

In her first diplomatic trip abroad, Vice President Kamala Harris met with the presidents of Guatemala and Mexico. In Guatemala, Harris and President Alejandro Giammattei announced a special anti-corruption commission, and capital investments, especially in marginalized rural regions, to curb migration to the United States. Civil society leaders reacted to the agreements announced with a mixture of doubt and hope. María Martin reports from Guatemala.
