Latino Congressman Promotes Smart Agriculture in Frozen Farm Bill

The farm bill is expected to remain frozen in the coming months due to political infighting in a polarized and gridlocked Congress. In the meantime, Latino legislators have succeeded in pushing a series of bipartisan measures to address farm, climate and food issues. One of them is Salud Carbajal, a Democratic congressman from California, who authored a bill to mechanize and automate manual labor in the fields and retrain affected workers. Carbajal gives us details of his proposal in an interview with our news director Samuel Orozco on the national program Línea Abierta. You can listen to the full interview in the archives of Linea Abierta for Monday, November 6 at radiobilingue.org.
