Information Campaign Defends Law to Protect Public Health

In September 2022, California passed a law that prohibits new oil and gas drilling near homes and agricultural fields to protect public health. The law was to go into effect in January but was frozen due to a ballot proposition promoted by the embattled industry to be included in the November elections. In response, environmental advocates and neighbors launched an awareness campaign called “Que no te Engañen” (Don’t Let Them Fool You). Alejandro Maciel reports from Los Angeles.
