Mexican Journalists Continue to be Murdered; Urgent Protection Requested

Mexican journalist Heber López was murdered last week in his studio in the state of Oaxaca. He is the fifth journalist to be murdered so far this year in Mexico, prompting protests by reporters and human rights activists across the country. President López Obrador has vowed that the crimes will not go unpunished and has begun a series of public consultations to strengthen the ineffective system for the protection of journalists.
