Radio Bilingüe’s live report focus on farmworkers marches in California

Radio Bilingüe will provide live coverage of the farmworker marches for immigration reform in California and Washington this Sunday, March 24th. The marches, organized by the United Farm Workers of America to celebrate Cesar Chavez’ holiday, are to urge for immigration reform and the AgJobs bill, a proposed immigration law that would allow farmworkers to earn legal status while they continue to work in agriculture.

Radio Bilingüe’s special program will include news-breaking reports and interviews and will air from 9 AM to 11 AM PT on Sunday, March 24th. The broadcast will be hosted by Chelis López, the regular host of Línea Abierta.

Línea Abierta , the first and only Spanish-language news show broadcast nationally over the public radio satellite system, is a service of Radio Bilingüe a national network based in California that distributes programming to more than 100 affiliate stations nationwide. Radio Bilingüe has a decades-long tradition of providing in-depth coverage to special events involving Latino civic participation.

Funding for national distribution has been provided in part by The Walter and Evelyn Haas Jr Fund, The Ford Foundation, The James Irvine Foundation, and the Open Society Foundation.

The broadcast will be streamed live on www.radiobilingue.org .
